Haven food pantry collection
Weekly collection to benefit the local family shelter and food shelf
When: ingathering last Sunday of every month
Co-coordinators: Jean Brandt and Joyce Nagle
- Each month, a specific non-perishable food staple (such as tuna,
macaroni and cheese, pasta and pasta sauce, peanut butter and jelly,
etc.) is determined based on needs of the local food pantry, and is
publicized in the church newsletter, weekly bulletin and announcements
during service.
- Food donations are dropped off throughout the month.
- One Sunday a month is designated as the "Ingathering Sunday." On
this Sunday, the basket of donated food is brought up to the altar
with the offering. (Generally, this is done by children in the
parish.)
- People who forgot to bring their food can make a monetary
donation.
- Volunteers drop off the food donation to the food pantry the
following week.
