Listen Community Dinner
Dinner served to folks in community in need of a hot meal and fellowship
When: Fifth Tuesday of the month
Coordinator: Marcie Kennedy
- St. Thomas, in partnership with Listen Community Services,
provides dinner to community diners every 5th Tuesday at Sacred Heart
Church in Lebanon.
- The event is publicized by calendar of events in the newsletter,
blurbs in the service bulletin and announcements during the
service.
- A sign up is posted where parishioners volunteer to prepare the
meal, serve and clean up, or make a donation to offset the cost of the
food.
- The cooking team of 4-6 volunteers arrives at 3 to prepare the
"signature" meal of sloppy joes, green beans, salad and dessert, and
set the tables. Volunteers are usually done by 5:00.
- The serving team of 4-6 volunteers arrives at 4:30 to serve dinner
to 40-60 guests, and to clean up after the dinner. Volunteers are
usually done by 6:30.
